1. What is medical leave?
Medical leave means taking time away from work because of your own medical condition. One of the biggest misconceptions is that “medical leave” is one program in the U.S. It’s not.
“Medical leave” is an umbrella term for several different options. Each option serves a different purpose, and you may qualify for more than one at the same time.
